Little Grand Canyon

 I've been wanting to see the Little Grand Canyon now for years and we've not been able to make it happen for one reason or another. Today was the day!

We made stops in Chester and Murphysboro along the way just to see what we could see and stretch our legs a bit.

The ascent

We hiked clockwise down into the canyon and back up. It was a solid 3 hours of hiking and was an absolute blast. Some of the ledges were a little hair-raising, but they just added to the thrill.

After finishing our hike we stopped in a nearby town and treated ourselves to ice cream before the long drive home. 

We did the drive, hike, and drive home all in one day but it was very doable. I'd love to go again in a few years.
