2025 Family Vacation Day 6: Juneau!

Juneau was our best day yet despite the constant rain. It was definitely a poncho day.

We got off the boat and made a beeline for our rental car. Ben was determined to drive in every state and Juneau was a great place to do this. We rented a vehicle from Turo, complete with car seat.

Mendenhall Glacier wasn't open yet so we took the long route to the park with a stop at a park near the coastline. We had the place to ourselves and it was really lovely.

The rain held off until we were at Mendenhall which was unfortunate because it was packed minutes after opening and parking was full. Poor Ben had to drop us off, park, and hike back. Thank goodness for ponchos!

We visited the Visitor's Center first. This was the most unique and interesting Visitor's Center we've seen, but it was also small and a bit outdated. Not to mention packed! We bought our souvenirs and then started the long walk to Nugget Falls.

We walked down to Nugget Falls and back. It was a nice walk - even in the rain. Afterward, we drove back into town in search of food. Hangar on the Wharf had been highly recommended so we went there. They were able to seat us right away and we were eating in no time.

After lunch, we walked downtown Juneau. Ben grabbed coffee, we bought souvenirs, and visited a few little local photo sites.

After returning the car, we headed back to the ship. Little Miss was pretty worn out and I was ready to ditch the poncho.

We ate dinner back on the ship and then Missy went to Kid's Club for a bit where she made this super cool bandana.
