2025 Family Vacation Day 1: Travel

It's time for another adventure and this time it's a big one!

It's been our family's goal to see all 50 states. We're only 2 away: Alaska and Wisconsin. This year Gabe turns 18, Luke turns 21, and Karen turns 70 so we thought an Alaskan cruise would be the way to go. Sadly, Luke decided to stay home to work and finish classes.

Day 1 was just travel to Seattle. Our flight didn't leave until 6 so it was a late night. The flight went really well. Little A did great. I packed her backpack full of fun things to do and some goodies and we broke out the ipad during the last hour. She was a real trooper.

Once we were in Seattle we hit a little snag. It was a long wait for our shuttle. We waited and waited and waited. Finally Ben called and they said that the "reservation" we'd made just secured a ride for us but that we needed to call to let them know we'd arrived and were ready for pickup. Whoops. So they dispatched a shuttle for us...just in time for Little Miss to announce she REALLY needed to pee.

I had to rush her back upstairs, across the walkway back into the airport, find the bathroom, find our way back and we were in line for no more that 60 second before our shuttle pulled up. Whew!!

It was about a 20 minute drive to our hotel so not something we could easily have walked.

Waiting for dad to park

Fun in the STL airport

The STL airport has a fun play place for kids!
