Senior Day

 I love our homeschool co-op!

I know some people still suffer under the illusion that homeschoolers just stay at home all day and don't have the opportunity to practice their social skills. A good homeschool group can go a long way in combating that and fill in the gaps of what kids might "miss out" on at a brick and mortar school.

Today, after morning classes, our co-op celebrated the seniors. The kiddos walked up to the stage amidst much fanfare. The MCs played a Know Your Senior game, gave a brief bio of each of the kids, and then the parents went up to give a 3-minute speech about our graduate. The MCs then handed out gifts while they informed the guests of each kiddo's future plans.

The pastor of the church gave a wonderful benediction and words of encouragement passed on from his own father. The whole ceremony was very personal and heartfelt. There were many tears shed and lots of celebrating and cheering.

Afterward, we celebrated with cake and punch. Each family displayed a photo board and mementos in the gym. What a wonderful way to celebrate!
