2022 Year in Review

1. What did you do in 2022 that you’d never done before? 


2. Did you keep your New Years resolutions, and will you make more for next year? I always resolve to try and eat healthier and exercise more. And I do a little bit better every year.(Same old, same old)


3. Did anyone close to you give birth? My sister, Chelsea, gave birth to Noelle in June.

4. Did anyone close to you die? My grandpa Eichelberger passed away this Fall.

5. What countries did you visit? None.

6. What would you like to have in 2023 that you lacked in 2022? Better health.

7. What from 2022 will remain etched upon your memory, and why? Luke moved out in early December. He turned 18 in June and started working full time. I thought he'd be here a couple more years. It was so sad looking at his empty room.

8. What was your biggest contribution of the year? I feel like I've contributed next to nothing this year. I've been in survival mode with really low energy and various health issues. 

9. What was your biggest failure? We wanted to let our kitten grow as much as possible before getting him fixed...and now he's starting to spray. Which may or may not be resolved by getting him neutered. 

10. Did you suffer illness or injury? Yes, I ended up in the hospital with a bowel blockage and had the flu.

11. What was the best thing you bought? The Detox course through Joette Calabrese.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration? Ben took really good care of me through my various ailments. 

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed? Luke's. He wants to do his own thing in life. He doesn't want to attend church. It's pretty sad.

14. Where did most of your money go? Inflation!


15. What did you get really, really, really excited about? We finally took our trip to the North West. It required a lot of driving, but we saw so many amazing things. The Oregon coast was so beautiful and so was the Redwood National Forest. 

16. What song will always remind you of 2022? 


17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Sadder
ii. thinner or fatter? Fatter
iii. richer or poorer? Same


18. What do you wish you’d done more of? Hiking and getting out in nature. My energy was so low and my allergies were awful this year. 

19. What do you wish you’d done less of? Fretting about other people's happiness when it's their job to make and keep themselves happy.


20. How will you be spending the Winter? Blogging, scrapbooking, reading, and working on my dollhouse


22. Did you fall in love in 2023? Nope, same loves as always.

23. What was your favorite month of 2022? Easily May when we took our trip.

24. What was your favorite TV program? Fringe. I can't believe we'd never seen it.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year? Nope. Not a hater, such a waste of time.


26. What was the best book you read? This was a meh reading year. I didn't have the energy to really dig into anything interesting. I did watch a Mike Winger video series on Women in the church. It. was. long. but it was really informative and well done.


27. What was your greatest musical discovery? Judah and the Lion. The acoustic version of Only to Be with You? Ahhhh.


28. What did you want and get? Our trip out West that felt like it was never going to happen considering we'd be going into WA, OR, and CA.


29. What was your favorite film of this year? We finally got Gabe to watch Forrest Gump and fell in love with that movie all over again.


30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you? I turned 42. My guys took me to St. Charles for the day. We ate and browsed the shops.


31. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying? Being more involved at our new church. I hope the new year brings energy.


32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2022? I decided to start getting a box from Stitch Fix every quarter. It's helped me have a few nice things to wear without having to shop.

33. What kept you sane? Friends. We had Bible study on Monday nights, games here on Tuesday nights, and ladies prayer here every other Wednesday night. In addition, our group has been interested in learning about the Jewish feasts so we gathered for that.

34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most? There were a couple of bold folks who stood up against jabs, masking, or other issues.


35. What political issue stirred you the most? Inflation and the money laundering scheme with Ukraine.

36. Who did you miss? Not really anyone! We got a nice long visit in with Chelsea and her family AND we got to see Paul and Amanda.

37. Who was the best new person you met? I've really enjoyed meeting the people at our new church. Great group of people!

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2022: Health is so important!
