Random Reads: When A Nation Forgets God by Lutzer

Since reading We Will Not Be Silenced, this book keeps getting recommended to me. I went ahead and picked it up and have appreciated the insights contained within. History really does repeat itself.

"The gas chambers of Auschwitz were the ultimate consequence of the theory that man is nothing but the product of heredity and environment - or as the Nazis liked to say, "Of blood and soil." I'm absolutely convinced that the as chambers of Auschwitz, Treblinka, and Maidanek were ultimately prepared not in some ministry or other of Berlin, but rather at the desks and in the lecture halls of nihilistic scientists and philosophers." Victor Frankl

The battle starts in our minds and in our homes. Gas chambers don't spring up overnight, they are the product of perverted thought, unsound reasoning, and an absence of a fear of God. Now is the time to speak up, hold our ground, and push back. The largest impact will be in our homes and churches. We need to inform others and be educating our children about what happened in Germany and places like it.

A few more exerts:

"At the height of the inflationary cycle, the people cried out for someone to end the madness."

"Given a choice, most people will choose bread and sausage above individual liberties."

The US is experiencing high inflation right now and our economy is struggling. We need to pay attention to the above quotes and think about what is sure to come in our future if we don't prepare.
