2021 Easter and Feasts Celebration

Today we celebrated Easter at our open and freedom-loving church. It was such a blessing.

After service, we had a small gathering with family. I gave my Spring feasts presentation and we ate dinner and dessert. It was so nice to be together.

The conclusion of my presentation of the Spring feasts:

The Israelites celebrated the appointed feasts to remember and commemorate important events and spiritual truths. They were also instituted, by God, to point them toward the future and what was to come. Our sin and rebellion separated us from a perfect and holy God and God immediately began a plan to reconcile mankind to himself. The complex system that was set in place in ancient Israel highlights the impossibility of us ever being able to do enough to enter into right relationship with God. There had to be a better way and there was. Jesus fulfilled all of the requirements, once and for all, and was the perfect sacrifice. For those who believe in him and confess his lordship over their lives, they are free from the bondage of sin and death. “He who knew no sin became our sin.” 2nd Corinthians 5:12

The first three Spring feasts represent the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ and each were fulfilled by Jesus to the day.

“Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.  For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” Hebrews 4:14-16
