Orlando 2020 Vacation Day 8: Universal

We had one last, sunshine-filled, low crowd day in Florida. All of the rides we'd wanted to ride or ride again were checked off our list and we even had time to try a few that we weren't so interested in, too.

We were all surprised at the Revenge of the Mummy ride. We'd ridden it before, on a previous trip, but somehow forgot all about it. It was right up there with Rockin' Rollercoaster in terms of speed and drops and sheer terror!

At the very end of the day, Ben and the older boys decided to try to get on Hagrid's ride. Gabe wasn't feeling that great so we stayed back. It was a good 45-minute wait. At the very end, Gabe ended up being sick in the bushes, poor guy. He ended up being sick all night long.

The next morning, he wasn't feeling great, but he was able to hold it together while we flew back home. I hate that he got sick, but I was glad that he didn't have to miss much of the fun and was able to get home without incident.

Overall, our week was a good one, but I will say that I don't recommend attending both parks back-to-back like we did. It was too much! You need a scheduled down day or two when visiting the big theme parks because they really do take it out of you.

Looking back, I'm so grateful for this trip because we were just starting to hear about the spread of Covid19 and wondering how it would impact us here in the US. I'm glad we were able to go to Florida as kind of a last hurrah before the insanity hit!
