Teammates

I really like this quote. The word "soulmate" has never sat well with me because it seems so passive.  Like, because God or some cosmic force made us for each other or put us together, we should just always stay together no matter what. A teammate, on the other hand, has to choose to be an active participant in the relationship and that resonates with me.

I don't want "soulmates" I want teammates. I want people who challenge and sharpen me while supporting me. I want people who listen to my feelings and frustrations, but offer me suggestions and resources. I want people who are brave enough to balance grace and truth. I want people who commiserate with me and then challenge me to do the right, needed, things despite the hardships.
