Christmas 2018

We enjoyed a very low-key Christmas this year!

This was partly intention and partly because Ben caught a bad cold! Ah, well.

On Dec. 22nd, we had Christmas at my dad's house. We ate lots of good food and opened some gifts. My nephews were our source of entertainment. At the ages of 2.5 and 6 weeks, they are so fun and precious.

On Dec. 24th, we spent the evening with Karen and Tim. Karen made up a roast and veggies. We opened gifts and then played some board games.

The boys were super excited for Christmas morning - the most excited I've seen them in years. They got to their rooms and were told not to come out for anything. We got to work putting together Luke's gaming chair, Gabe's EZ roller, and then hauling in the old trunk we'd purchased for Gabe on Craigslist.

We finally stumbled into bed and were woken up at 6:55 am!

They were bouncing around like puppies!

I love how excited and appreciative they were of all of their gifts! There are definitely benefits to not buying your kids stuff all of the time - they don't take it for granted!

They opened gifts and stockings and then we ate brunch with Karen and Tim.

My mom dropped by for a visit in the afternoon. It was nice to see her and catch up.

Christmas evening was spent eating leftovers. I crashed on the couch and didn't leave it the rest of the day. Exhausted!

So, just like that, Christmas 2018 is over! It came and went so fast. It's my absolute favorite time of year and I wish it could span about 2 full months. I know I'm going to milk it as long as I can!
For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given, and the government shall be upon His shoulder; and his name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace
(Isaiah 9:5)
