August 2018 Recap
And here are the highlights for August:
August 1st: We met up with some friends at Skyzone. I was really impressed with Gabe's participation this time!
Ben's birthday week started here. We had our usual Wednesday night up at church. But I surprised his with a birthday shirt and took some homemade cherry cupcakes to share with our friends.
August 3rd was Ben's 40th birthday!

August 11th: I volunteered at our church's Back to School Bash. Over 400 children received all the school supplies they needed and many received haircuts, shoes, socks, and more. It was a great morning!
August 12th: Birthday dinner with Ben's mom and brother. Hibachi. Yum!
August 15th: Had fun at a local park.
August 16th: I made coffee-flour Paleo brownies. Once I use up the coffee flour I have, I probably won't purchase it again (it's not organic). But I do enjoy the flavor the flour brings to the brownies!
August 19th: Luke's mid-season show was today. It was LOUD and crowded, but I really, really enjoyed hearing and watching him play.
He's so comfortable on stage now and his skill is impressive! He had an awesome guitar solo during No Doubt's "Don't Speak."
August 26th: Another baby shower! I only helped a little with this one. We have been blessed with a lot of babies at our church over the past year. This little guy has two much older brothers. He's already so loved!
August 28th: Watched the movie, "Mully" with the boys. It was excellent. Very inspiring.
We did some pre-mission trip shopping, but ended up finding more fun stuff than practical.

[caption id="attachment_4614" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Ah, the cats at PetSmart. It's so hard to leave without taking one home with us![/caption]
August 29th: A random Gabe and Jenn face swap.
August 30th: The boys and I wondered around downtown Eureka for a bit. Luke has started playing Pokemon Go. We stopped in for tasty treats after walking.
The last week of the month was full of preparation for Ben and Luke's mission trip to El Salvador with our church.
Gabe and I are hanging out on our own, introverting it up. We're both doing a whole lot of nothing!
I have to say, doing a post like this makes me appreciate how much we really do. I often don't feel like we do a lot and sometimes that makes me feel guilty. But when I look back, I can see we really fit a lot in over the summer. It certainly sped by!
