2018 Vacation Day 13: Toledo, Fort Wayne, and Indianapolis

Another low-key driving day!

We started out at Toledo's botanical gardens.

It was nice and FREE!

We were surprised that there was a little art store on the grounds. Really cute and unexpected. The gardens were really lovely and was a nice way to spend time in the area.

Fort Wayne, IN was our next stop. We visited the grave of Johnny Appleseed. A nearby park was a disappointment. It looked really neat, but in person was underwhelming. Gabe was more than happy to play on the playground nearby while the others sulked in the van.

In Indianapolis, we found another river walk area. It was beautifully done, but we've seen a lot of river walks in a lot of places. We decided to kick it up a notch and do something we've never done before: rent and ride a double surrey!

It was fun and a great workout! At one point, we passed a friendly guy who gave us a push uphill. :D

We didn't crash or run over everybody and we were able to see the entire riverwalk in an hour. Win win.

(Between the lighthouse, the surrey, and all of the walking we've done, I fully expect my legs to fall off any moment now.)23
