Photo Challenge Day 6

Day 6: Joy

Well, this worked out!

I've had this IKEA mirror on top of one of our tall bookcases forever. I put it there because I didn't have any other place for it and it filled that spot nicely. It's been there for years. My mom finally noticed it and remarked that it's sort of weird to have a mirror way up there. I decided she was right. She recommended writing something on it to make it look like it actually has a purpose. Brilliant! I wrote "Joy."

Photo-Challenge-Day-6-JoyWe visited a new church today. I really enjoyed it and am excited about it. Ben is on the fence. We're going again next week and we'll just keep praying about it and see how God leads us.

We purchased the tree and got it set up before church and then decorated when we got home. It was so fun!

I love decorations and pretty things, but I've never spent much money on Christmas ornaments. We have enough things to spend money on around the holidays so that's always been something that falls by the wayside.

I did copycat a friend and started making/buying family picture ornaments each year. They've really added up.

Ornaments---FamilyI'm missing 2011. The ornaments Costco offered at that time were too narrow to fit the Christmas photo I had taken. They have new ornaments as of last year so I was able to make one up today! We started this in 2004!

I also enjoyed getting out all of our travel ornaments. I'd purchased an ornament last year during our Disney vacation. It dawned on me, during our trip out West this year, that I could keep that going. So I made a point to purchase an ornament at every notable spot we visited. Not only on vacation, but since then. In addition to our vacation ornaments, I have ornaments from the Butterfly House, the Titanic museum in Branson, Wilson Creek battlefield, Julia Dent Grant's home, and Branson.

Ornaments---TravelI have a feeling we'll be adding a second tree at some point!
