Home Sweet Home

Our addition is 99% finished! Right now we are waiting on a special threshold piece and then we're done!

Well, pretty much done. There are a few domino projects to do. For example, we had to turn one of the existing bedrooms into a dining room because the county won't allow more than three bedrooms on our current septic. So we cut a huge hole in a wall. Now that wall needs to be repainted and the new "diningroom" needs to be painted to match the rest of the main rooms. Also, we need concrete poured around back so that we can actually drive into the garage. Stuff like that. But the addition itself? Pretty much done!

Here's the front now:

It's a far cry from the way it looked when we moved in!

This picture is even after we put on the new roof, and painted the door and shutters! It was such a plain little house in the beginning. I'm so grateful Ben saw the potential. I didn't want to see it initially!

Coming soon: inside pics!

  1. I can't wait - it looks great!

So will your dining room contain a bed? ;-)

  2. Yeah, it's just a bedroom with a hole in the wall. :) No, we were using it as our schoolroom so it's pretty much the same. I just had to move the craft stuff to the extra closet in Luke's new room and 4 small bookshelves in there along one wall. It's pretty underwhelming.
