Girl Time

I love my boys and I'm very happy to be a boy mom. But I miss doing girly stuff. Thank goodness for nieces!

The girls are staying here a couple of days. My goal is to have them stay over a few days a month. They're the only cousins the boys have. Oh sure, I bet there will be more cousins down the road, but because of the age gap it won't be the same.

In addition to those very good reasons, my sister could use the downtime. If you could call it that. She's one of those women who makes me look like a total slacker! She works full time (and often overtime) takes care of 3 girls, and takes 2 classes a semester. This week she's working every. single. day. Mindblowing.

Here are two of the girls.

Taylor is so sweet. She's actually 2 months younger than Tiza, but she's the big sister all the way. Always willing to pitch in and help out. She mothers the other girls and tries to always do the right thing. The other girls say she tends to be bossy. Well, I guess that comes with the big sister role.

This is Ali. This picture captures her perfectly. She's stinking adorable, feisty, and a wee bit stubborn. Today she actually peed in a corner of our (empty) garage. She was swinging in the front yard, and then, for some unfathomable reason, ran around to the back, let herself into the garage, took off her swim suit and peed!! When I asked her what she was thinking she cried and locked herself in the bathroom for an hour. You just never know with this one! She keeps things lively and I really wouldn't have it any other way.

We painted our nails. All 40 toes and all 30 (of their) nails.
