2014 Disney Vacation Day 7: Animal Kingdom

Our last day! The week went by so fast!

Today we headed over to Animal Kingdom. None of us had been there before and I'd heard mixed reviews.

We started off with the Kilimanjaro Safari.

Everyone is loaded into jeeps that are laden with supplies which makes it feel like you are really heading off on a safari. These are real jeeps, not cars on a track. Each jeep has a driver and everything. Very cool.

There was supposed to be a large wild cat on these rocks, but I never did spot it.

The great thing about the safari is that, unlike a zoo, there are very few visible fences or barriers. You really get to see what it might be like to visit these animal's natural habitats.

After the safari, we headed over Expedition Everest. I knew this was an intense roller coaster, but both boys were game! I was a little nervous, to be honest, but I kept that to myself. It was so fun!!

Animal Kingdom was probably my favorite as far as picture opportunities, that's for sure!

After a long morning at Animal Kingdom, we headed back to the condo for our mandatory nap time. When we woke up, it was decided that we all wanted to go back to Magic Kingdom because there were so many things over there we didn't get to do.

Since we'd already seen the light show and parade the first time around, we didn't stop for either of those things and we were able to pack in a LOT of things!

We had to go back to the Monster's Laugh floor and were thrilled when Tim was picked as "That Guy".

Basically, they pick on one person again and again throughout the show. Cracked us up!

We made sure to let Gabe ride the Merry-go-'round because it was the only thing he was adamant about doing the entire trip. No pictures of that because I rode with him!

We ate a tasty lunch at Gaston's Tavern!

Goofball. Why do boys have such a hard time looking normal in pictures???

We rode Big Thunder Railroad, Dumbo, Little Mermaid, watched the Hall of Presidents show, cracked up at the Country Bears Jamboree, and enjoyed Enchanted Tales with Belle, among other things. Gabe and I had missed out on Splash Mountain our first time in the park so he and I ended the night by doing Splash Mountain. He enjoyed it and was so brave. Love that kid!

We headed back to the condo and crashed and I think that we were all a bit glad it was time to head home despite all the fun we'd had!
