Juicy

This is my new afternoon snack:

Apple, cabbage, carrot, and beet juice.

And no, I don't drink it from the measuring cup. I put it in a glass. Like a lady. Sheesh.

My mom was encouraging me to juice for my liver and we discussed how cabbage juice has helped two family members completely recover from ulcers. I started to wonder if cabbage was good for healing the gut. So I did some research.

Cabbage is loaded with vitamins C, A, D, assists with detox, is anti-inflammatory, contains lots of calcium, folates, b vitamins, and zinc, helps regulate blood sugar...and much more.

With all of this in mind, I started juicing yesterday. I juice half a head of cabbage, 4 carrots, 1 med. apple, and 1 whole beat (leaves and all). I am concerned about the possibility of cabbage suppressing my thyroid, but I'm not drinking a quart a day and I only plan on juicing for a week or maybe two in hopes that I'll be able to further heal my digestive track without jeopardizing my thyroid.

I'll see what happens....

p.s. Interesting article about juicing in general from Food Babe.
