Downton Abbey
Obviously I've heard of Downton Abbey. I kept seeing this picture:
I had an idea I might like it.
I just wasn't prepared. A friend started talking about it and I knew I had to give it a try. I love it! I was afraid it would be too soap-opera-y. I was afraid it have too much violence or sex. I was afraid it wouldn't feel authentic.
Um...it's Masterpiece Theatre. I should have known better!
So far, I'm loving that the show portrays the ins and outs of life for the servants, as well as the well-to-do lords and ladies. Fascinating and intriguing, and I have to say, I'm not sure which set I'd rather be! Working your fingers to the bone, 7 days a week, doesn't seem fun, but the burden of family, fortune, and estate isn't all it's cracked up to be, either.
